CALL TO ACTION: Stop Utah From Placing A Tax On eCigarettes

CALL TO ACTION: Help Stop Utah From Placing A Tax On Vapor Products

The members of the Utah State Legislature are planning a bill that will place a new sin tax on the sale of electronic cigarettes and all vapor related products. This is coming from Utah Governor Gary Herbert who wishes to use the vapor tax in order to increase the state’s spending allowance. If this bill is passed and Governor Herbert gets his wish, this sin tax will raise the prices of your vape significantly and it will also add a slew of regulations on vapor products, sellers and consumers.

A tax like this will dramatically reduce your vaping choices when you make your purchases, this will put many citizens of Utah out of work who support themselves and their loved ones on income from the popular, ever-growing and fruitful vapor industry.

Please contact your Utah State Representative and Senator and ask them to OPPOSE Governor Herbert’s ecigarette tax!

When you make your call or send your email be sure that you remain courteous and respectful throughout. You should assume that they do not know very much about ecigs and vapor products, also that they generally want reputable information from you so that they can take the correct action for Utah citizens. It is your responsibility to educate them on how these products have changed your life for the better and ask them to support your position but in a polite manner.

In your email / testimony tell them about YOUR story:

a. How these products have changed your life

b. How variety, access and the current cost of these products are important to you

Send them your story via these methods:

1. Send a simple letter to the Utah State Representative and Senator using the webform system of the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association here.

2.Make a phone call. You can find the contact information of Utah’s State Representative and State Senator here.

When you make a phone call to your state representatives make sure that you identify yourself as a resident and leave your home address for proof.

If you care about the cost and the accessibility that you have to electronic cigarettes, make you take the time to make your voice heard. Your story CAN make a difference!
